Report Cards
Student report cards are issued every nine weeks. A progress report will be sent home half way through the grading period for Grades K, 1 and 2. Reports should be reviewed and signed by the parent or guardian and returned to the school the next school day. Report card grades are based on benchmark testing for our Georgia Standards of Excellence. Rubrics, portfolios, and benchmark testing are all used to document student growth.
Georgia Testing Program

GKIDS- Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills is a kindergarten assessment that will be utilized at Oglethorpe County Primary School during the 2016-2017 school year.

SRI and MAP- A Student Growth Measure assessment will be administered in grades K-2.  These tests are meant to monitor the implementation and mastery of the Georgia Standards of Excellence in our school. Students in grades 1 and 2 will also participate by taking an assessment known as the SRI and MAP according to the system's plan for those respective grade levels.

The School Placement/Promotion Policy

Placement or promotion of a student into a grade, class, or program will be based on the academic achievement of the student on the criterion-referenced assessments and other criteria established in the school placement/promotion policy.

OCPS bases writing instruction on the rubrics used for the 3rd grade Georgia Writing Assessment in order to prepare these students for OCES.
